Rumble Have you ever heard the expression “you are as old as you feel”? It turns out that is actually true, according to Air Force veteran Daniel Biss.

During an Independence Day picnic on July 4th at a local pool in Ohio, the 95-year-old veteran took a plunge into the water for one purpose alone. To show a small child too afraid to jump from the board how to overcome his fears. It turns out, Mr. Biss had some struggles to overcome of his very own.

The veteran from World War II and the Korean War literally stepped up to the challenge. With the assistance of two friends, the brave elderly gentleman climbs the low board and takes a few shaky steps towards the water, lightly supporting himself on his cane. When he reaches halfway, Mr. Biss shows just how great of a showman he is, flexing his bicep to demonstrate his courage. If you ask us, that added just the right amount of emphasis to the feat he was about to undertake. Drum roll, please...

He gave us a little fright there, when he dropped his clenched fist and lost his balance, urging everyone around him to jump for help. He didn’t seem too frightened though, as one of his friends was right there with him to help him find his bearings.

Finally, he reaches the edge of the board, with his daughter in the water encouraging him to jump. It looks like he is going to make it, but instead he measures out the pros and cons of the situation and takes a brave plunge instead. Belly first, but he did it. Mission accomplished.

In the water was also Mr. Biss’s grandson, Kevin Ross, who said: “Little did we know he would actually dive.” Kevin’s mom Christine adds: “He is very spry for his age. He is full of amazing stories and has song for every situation.” We wonder what song was going through his mind when he took this plunge. ‘Eye of The Tiger’ maybe?

Mr. Biss made a few paddles of his own in the clear pool, before his daughter and grandson helped him out to take a breath. When he got out, he told his kids that “he wants to be seen around the world.” What better way to display heroics on Independence Day.

In another true display of ‘age is but a number’, young men line up to have the honor of dancing with one 90-year-old dancing queen during SEA Jam 2014 dance camp, organized by Jitterbugs Swingapore and Bangkok Swing. Now that's impressive! This is how you do it!

Jean Phelps Veloz is an icon of 'Hollywood-Style Lindy Hop' for the current swing dancing generation. She’s a living bridge from the Los Angeles dance scene of the 1940's to the present-day Lindy Hop revival that is currently sweeping through the United States and the rest of the world.

Jean grabs her partners, and simply dances. And boy, is she setting the bar so high for all those watching her and contemplating whether to even try to give her some competition. Although it might seem like Jean and her fellow dancers are dancing at a competition level, it was not a competition night at all. It is her 90th birthday party at the Navy Club in Grand Palace Bangkok, Thailand!
