Car Submerged in Deadly Des Moines-Area Flooding

Torrential rains brought major flooding to Des Moines, Iowa, on June 30, leaving cars submerged, buildings and roads damaged, and at least one person dead, according to reports. Radio personality Larry Cotlar, 65, was reported to have died after being carried down several blocks by floodwaters. Fire crews also responded to a house explosion in Urbandale that they suspected was caused by flooding, according to KCCI.
