1911 Project: Checkering the front strap

Hand checkering a 1911 front strap ended up being a lot harder than I thought. Mainly because it is an exercise in patience and you can't rush it...like I did. Even still, with the mistakes that were made, checkering the front strap of this Norinco 1911A1 was well worth it since the texture added will aid in recoil control and overall comfort will firing.

Was it worth it? Yes. Will I do it again? Yes. Mainly because checkering files are expensive and I need to justify the expense ;)
