Everyone Strives against Jesus, Even as He Defers to Divine Defeat – Mark 8:27–10:45

In this brief excerpt from the course, Jesus and Myth, Dr. Barber discusses how Jesus models and teaches choosing the 'defeat' of deferring to God's will, instead of selfish striving for one's own gain. God's will is self-sacrifice for the benefit of others, their temporal and eternal benefit.

While this teaching is under the dispensation of the Law, according to the Gospel of the Kingdom, it nevertheless has direct application for the Christian today under the Mystery dispensation of Grace, according to the Gospel of Grace.
