Some minor discrepancies of verses as opposed to the description.
Holiness Bible Study Verses:
• Holiness
◦ Equation for understanding:
▪ Holiness = Obedience + Purity + God's grace
▪ OR Holiness = Righteousness + God’s grace
▪ AND Holiness = The Love of Truth + True Love through Jesus Christ
• Without the truth, we don’t have Jesus Christ; without love, we don’t have Jesus. The truth, the love of truth, and love of Jesus Christ are all necessary for holiness as holiness comes from Jesus Christ as God. → John 14:6, 1 John 4:8
▪ As we have covered before in the Righteousness Bible study,
• “Righteousness is obedience, love, and commitment to the truth, Jesus Christ, and commands of Jesus Christ.”
• In summary, Righteousness = Obedience + Purity
◦ Obedience is given by loving Jesus Christ and keeping His commandments. → John 14:15, 2 Thessalonians 2:8
◦ As we serve Jesus, we sin less, are sanctified by Him, and become more clean and pure of sin. → Psalm 32:5, Isaiah 1:16, 1 John 1:9, Revelation 1:5
▪ God’s grace is given to us freely that we might be saved through faith because we all fall short of God’s glory because of sin. It’s not based our on our own merits nor works. → Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:23
• We still must strive for holiness while operating under God’s grace without abusing it. → Hebrews 10:26-31
▪ Shout out to Elisha, one of the Two Witnesses, who helped me put this together!

◦ Concordance on Holiness
▪ A recurring theme of holiness in the concordance and the Bible is to be set apart and to be like the Lord.

◦ Example use verse: Matthew 7:6
• H6918 ‘qadosh’ “Definition: sacred, holy”
https://biblehub.com/hebrew/6918.htm
◦ Example use verse: Leviticus 20:26
◦ Originates from word ‘qodesh’ which includes “apartness” in the definition.
◦ James 4:4 → Being friends with the world is against holiness.
▪ Since we are called to be set apart from the world for our Lord, Jesus Christ, to be worldly or to be friends with the world is antithetical to being holy which requires us to be set apart from the world for God.
◦ Ephesians 4:23-24 → We are renewed towards God in holiness and righteousness.
