A brush fire sparked north of San Diego State University on June 3, threatening homes and causing the closure of a section of the I-8 on June 3. This footage shows a view of the smoke from afar. Firefighting helicopters are also visible. According to a report from The San Diego Union-Tribune, the fire was first reported around 4:10 pm and 80 houses between Waring Road and College Avenue were evacuated as flames drew near.
