In the past week Russia has dramatically increased advertising for military recruitment. The Kremlin needs to do this to both counter the incursion in the Kursk region as well as continue the offensive into Ukraine. Government officials in Moscow have acknowledged a decline in recruitment and are offering bigger contracts with lucrative signing bonuses. At least a 30% decrease in recruitment was reported at the end of July.
