🚨 USS Wasp Navy Men Assaulted in Turkey

Reposts coming that two United States NAVY personnel from the USS Wasp were assaulted after disembarking in Izmir, Turkey. You can hear the crowd chanting: “Yankee Go Home!”

Two U.S. Marines were assaulted in Izmir, Turkey, on Monday while on leave from the USS Wasp, a U.S. Navy amphibious assault ship. The attack occurred in the Konak district and involved members of the Turkey Youth Union (TBG), a youth branch of the nationalist opposition Vatan Party. A video circulating online shows a Marine being surrounded by a group of men who placed a hood over his head while chanting "Yankee, go home!" The Marines were in civilian clothes at the time of the attack.

The U.S. Navy confirmed that two Marines were targeted and have since returned safely to the USS Wasp. Five other U.S. soldiers joined in to help after witnessing the incident, and Turkish police intervened, detaining all 15 attackers. The Marines were taken to a local hospital for evaluation but were uninjured.

The TBG posted a video of the incident, declaring, “We put sacks on the US soldiers serving on the largest attack ship of the USA, USS Wasp!” They also issued a statement condemning the U.S. presence in Turkey, accusing American soldiers of defiling their country and carrying the blood of their soldiers and Palestinians.
