SOME fans were left bemused as they tuned in for the opening ceremony of the Paralympics Games Paris 2024.

More than 4,400 from 154 countries are taking part in the Games over the next couple of weeks in a festival of sport.

But some watching from home weren't able to settle into the spectacle as they had no idea what was going on during one of the musical acts during the ceremony.

It came after a French band called 'Christine and the Queens' performed during the ceremony.

The music of 'Christine and the Queens' blends various genres, including pop but fans were perplexed by the choreography surrounding the act.

The musicians arrived in a car filled with red roses before they entered the stage.

Once on stage, dancers dressed in black suits and sunglasses paraded around while sprawling across a piano as they wildly threw their hands in the air.

The band is known for incorporating choreography into performances - the choreography often combines contemporary dance and elements of theatre.

But some fans took to social media as they were a bit confused by what the meaning was behind the stage routine.

Posting on X, one said: "Am I the only person watching the Opening Ceremony who has absolutely no idea what is happening?"

One fan penned: "I attended the 2012 Paralympics Opening Ceremony - no one had any idea then either."

While another said: "It's bonkers....not a clue what's going on!"

While a fourth wrote: "Me too. What's it meaning I'm lost already."

Meanwhile, Ireland will be sending 35 athletes to compete across nine different sports, with all four provinces represented.
