Gilda (1946)
"Gilda" is an American film noir melodrama released in 1946, directed by Charles Vidor. The plot follows Johnny Farrell, a small-time gambler in Buenos Aires, who becomes entangled in a web of intrigue and passion when he meets Gilda, the enigmatic wife of his new boss, casino owner Ballin Mundson. Johnny and Gilda share a turbulent past, and their reunion sparks a dangerous game of love, jealousy, and revenge. The film is iconic for Rita Hayworth's mesmerizing performance as Gilda, particularly her sultry rendition of the song "Put the Blame on Mame." The chemistry between Hayworth and Glenn Ford, who plays Johnny Farrell, adds to the film's allure.
