Larry Blieka’s Northfork Stripper

7/23/2024 Retired FDNY Chief Larry Blieka teamed up with Tom’s Guide Service today. The weather report was a little bit different than the weather we dealt with today. I knew we’d be fishing the flood tide, but thought we’d be looking at light variable winds. That was not the case, we had 15 mile an hour winds out of the east, same direction as the current. We deploy a sea anchor and still used 10 ounce weights. We managed a bunch of short fluke and one striper measuring 27 inches, which was returned, as it wasn’t within the 28 inch to 31 inch slot. Great day on the water, with a couple firehouse stories to boot.
