Rumble - Miracles can happen - sometimes they’re just long in the making. From Michele Whitaker, to Denise Desruisseaux Bolser, to Brenda Heist, these victims may have disappeared, but resurfaced. WatchMojo counts down the Top 10 Missing People Who Were Eventually Found.

For this list we look at people who disappeared for a lengthy period of time and then turned up again. They may have disappeared against their own free will or of their own accord.

Number 10 on this list is the case of Michelle Whitaker. The then Waffle House employee left his family home in 2002, after an argument with her mother, and didn’t come back. The police went looking for her and doubled their efforts when a coworker of Michelle also went missing in a matter of weeks. The second woman’s boyfriend was a suspect in a murder case and the police feared that the man killed both women. When a story of the man went on the air, a woman saw the picture of Whitaker and recognized her as a neighbor.

Number 9 is the case of Denise Desruisseaux Bolser. When her husband found a note saying “We’ve got your wife”, the conclusion was logical. Either she was actually kidnapped or the husband murdered the wife and is trying to cover it up. When this New Hampshire bookkeeper went missing in 1985, the circumstances were such, but neither conclusions were entertained for very long. The next year, Bolser was charged with embezzlement from the company she worked at and she left town, after being threatened by her boss. She was found way later, in 2002, by which time the charges have been dropped.

The list gets even more curious as it goes on. So be sure to watch it for some quite peculiar missing persons cases that were miraculously solved.
