Chris Emms is a British Cryptocurrency pioneer who was granted asylum by Russia in 2023. He worked formerly as an executive at Bitcoin.com, one of the most downloaded crypto apps in the world. In 2021, due to an arrest warrant issued against him by the US Federal Southern District Court of New York, related to an alleged violation of the Emergency Economic Powers Act, Chris spent 7 months in detention in Saudi Arabia before finally winning his extradition battle and moving to Russia.
