Maryland resident Cassie Costin captured video of her husband Officer Ryan Costin struggling to get his K9 partner to go to work in Glen Burnie, on April 24. The video shows Officer Costin attempting to get his partner, Jango the police dog, into their vehicle for a day at the Anne Arundel County Sheriff’s Office.

Cassie explained she received a text from her husband after he walked out the door to go to work saying he was ready to head out but Jango was not having it. That was when she glanced outside the window of her home to see her husband trying to convince the dog to get in the car and started to film the scene. Officer Costin eventually convinced Jango to go to work with a belly rub. Cassie found it strange to see Jango laying down in the yard outside her home earlier that morning because he is normally “a very active dog.” However, laziness isn’t just a human vice. Dogs can get lazy too, and sometimes they’re just not in the mood to to anything.

As limitless as Jango’s energy is when he’s running circles around his home, he might feel exhausted before going to work and refuses to budge. He’s done with work today - period. He decides he needs a few minutes’ rest to keep going. As his owner struggles to coerce Jango get up, he looks foolish to his giggling wife. Jango just lays flat on the ground. And it’s only Tuesday. Who would have guessed that Jango only needs a positive reinforcement like rubbing his tummy before he gets up. What a cute dog!
