Hubby Cuts Down Traffic Barrier Over Wifes Commute

This is the bizarre moment a husband used a power tool to cut through a traffic barrier to improve his wife’s commute to work.

A video shows how the crafty hubby went out in the middle of the night and chopped a chunk out of the guardrail so his spouse could take a more direct route in the morning.

Footage captures sparks flying as he gets to work around midnight on his DIY shortcut in the city of Dongguan, Guangdong province, south-eastern China.

It is thought the man’s wife had to walk around the fence, which separates one side of the road from the other, every day on her way to work running a small stall.

Each morning she had to walk a few hundred metres extra because of the barrier so he decided to make life easier for her.

It is thought that he had already removed a chunk of it, without telling his wife he was the one who had got rid of it.

He was detained by police after chopping through the barrier on Thursday last week and admitted what he had done, according to reports.

It is not the first time that frustrated members of the Chinese public have taken matters into their own hands when it comes to the roads.

Last December, a commuter tried to simplify a busy junction by changing the road markings but instead of waiting until the middle of the night he did it while cars were rushing by.
