This is the shocking moment a woman nursery teacher repeatedly punches a toddler in the face and manhandles him by locking her legs around him like a wrestler as he tries to escape.

The 25-year-old woman was caught on film attacking the youngster at the nursery, in the city of Vinh, Nghe An province, central Vietnam, after he refused to do as he was told.

CCTV footage shows how she picked up the 20-month-old boy and carried him across the room, before sitting on the floor with her legs wrapped around him so he was unable to move.

The unnamed little boy appears to be crying as she shakes and punches him on the body.

Another woman teacher approaches and the little boy stands up as if hoping she will help but she does little to stop the beating.

The video shows how the woman, who wears an orange top, grabbed the boy so she could hit him again.

After a video of the woman, who had been contracted to teach music and dance, was posted online, she admitted what she had done calling it an "immature act" and saying she had lost her temper at the time.

The woman, identified only by the initials N.T.H, has now been fired while the other woman who witnessed the beating but did nothing to stop it has also been suspended from work.

The little boy is not thought to have been injured but local politician Thai Giap Vinh confirmed that the newly-opened ABC Montessori Preschool has now been ordered to suspend its operations.

The school, which opened last month, was attended by around 40 youngsters and had got its official licence on Thursday, the same day the beating was caught on camera.

Footage was released on Facebook the same day receiving hundreds of views and on Friday the school was forced to shut its doors.

It is not currently known if and when the school will reopened or whether the police are investigating the footage at all.
