Staff at the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden welcomed a 250-pound orphaned female manatee to the zoo’s Manatee Springs enclosure on April 24. The one-year-old manatee was rescued by zoo staff after her mother was hit by a boat on April 9. Her mother didn’t survive. According to the zoo, the manatee will be rehabilitated along with three orphaned males that have been at the zoo for the last six months. A clip shared to Facebook of the manatee familiarising herself with the zoo had earned over 120,000 views at the time of writing. Credit: Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden via Storyful
