Warden of the Year Awarded to Michigan's Melinda Braman

Braman presides over the Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility. In a press release, Michigan Department of Corrections Director Heidi E. Washington praised Braman for making Handlon Correctional Facility "a national model" due to her initiatives to offer inmates vocational training and access to liberal arts education.
