A spy chief in Germany has said that the country'sprominent far-right party, Alternative für Deutschland(AfD), poses a danger to the "roots" of democracy.

While the party has repeatedly rejected accusations ofextremism, the BBC has found a clear crossoverbetween AfD figures and far-right networks, some ofwhich are classed as anti-democratic or racist by German authorities.
