Intense winds caused power lines to spark during the early morning on April 4 in Buffalo, New York. Joe Garvey did not need to set an alarm on Wednesday morning, because the sparking power lines outside his home were creating enough noise to wake up the entire neighborhood. This local news report talks about a high wind warning being issued and about power outages across Western New York. This article reported that as of 11am local time on April 4, more than 3,000 people woke up and found themselves without power. The winds have caused other issues, such as trees falling into homes, car accidents and road blockage. According to this local weather report the winds are supposed to last through Thursday, April 5.
