This footage shows how a woman who failed to rest after donating over a pint of blood crashed her scooter into a bollard and broke her arm.

The 34-year-old surnamed Lee claimed she suddenly felt dizzy and uncontrollably revved her scooter, causing it to collide with the roadside structure as it wobbled from side to side.

The accident was captured on a car's dashcam in New Taipei City’s Tucheng District in North Taiwan. The video shows a group of scooter riders waiting at the lights and then making a left turn onto a main road.

But Lee, who had stopped by a bloodmobile minutes earlier, can be seen appearing to lose consciousness on her vehicle, which wobbles left and right before veering into the bollard.

She apparently blacked out for a second and accidentally revved the scooter when she came back around, causing the accident, reports said.

Tucheng District policeman Chen Chien-jung said: "The woman explained that she rested for only five minutes after donating blood."

"She suffered abrasions and a broken arm from the accident," Chen added.

The woman, who gave 500 millilitres of blood, was taken to hospital for treatment and is not in any life-threatening condition.

Authorities have urged members of the public to rest after visiting bloodmobiles or to donate fewer amounts to prevent discomfort.
