We are told that our politicians, leaders and elites are the culmination of the march towards freedom, justice, diversity and equality. We are told that democracy is our insurance policy and it guarantees our power to control them. Perhaps if we had democracy this would be true but we have a cheap shadow of democracy and even that is fading.
