This is the moment armed robbers emptied display cases of valuables in a commando-style raid on a jewellery store.

Four robbers stole diamonds and gold worth 10 million RUB (124,000 GBP) in the raid in the Russian capital city of Moscow.

The daring robbery was caught on CCTV cameras in the 'Serebryany Mir' (Silver World) on Leningradsky Prospect, a major route through the north of the city.

The masked and armed men, who all wore camouflage or khaki hooded jackets, staged the robbery with military precision.

One of them held the security guard up at gunpoint while another walked around the store smashing glass display cases open with a hammer.

The other two men took about one minute to grab the valuables inside and put them into bags which they used to carry off their haul.

The robbers struck so fast that security guards and sales assistants in the store did not even have time to press the panic button.

The robbers reportedly made their getaway in a Lada Samara car. Police have launched an investigation but so far the robbers remain unidentified and at large.

A police spokesman confirmed: "Unidentified persons threatened a store guard with a gun, broke the display cases and stole jewellery."

The footage of the raid is proving popular with viewers on video-sharing platforms where netizen "Patriot' said: "They should have had proper security guards."
