A bushfire destroyed dozens of homes in southeast New South Wales near Tathra and Tarraganda on Sunday, March 18. ABC reported the bushfire threatened homes in the Sapphire Coast towns after it jumped the Bega River on Sunday. NSW Rural Fire Service warned Tathra residents via Twitter that evacuation was not an option and they should seek immediate shelter.
