Hello movie fans! Boy, have we got a treat for you! In today's video Alex will be giving you her list of the 10 Biggest Oscar Snubs of all time. So get those fingers ready keyboard warriors and prepare to tell us what we got wrong and what we missed, ahead of the 90th Academy Awards.

There have been a lot of hits and misses with the nominations for the Academy Awards. There has been a lot of debate throughout the years about which movies should and which shouldn’t enter the list. A lot of movie classics we’ve grown to love throughout the years have not received even a nomination, let alone win the actual Oscar.

Let’s talk about Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining for example. That movie is as iconic as it gets and it seems that it never gets old. But, did you know that it wasn’t even nominated for any Academy Award? Apparently, this is a common theme with Kubrick’s movies because he hasn’t received even one Oscar in his whole career. Sure, he received a few nominations for his movies because they are after all a piece of art, but not once did he get the actual prize. There are a few theories about this, mainly because critics think that these kinds of movies are really hard to categorize and they are truly one of a kind.

Sometimes the Academy has been on the receiving end of bad critique as the public wasn’t very happy with their choice of nominees. One such instance was when the Academy didn’t nominate The Dark Knight for the Best Picture Award. The backlash was so bad, they decided to go as far as nominating up to 10 movies for that category the following year. As it turns out the voice of the people can be very loud if it needs to be.
