CCTV footage from a shop in Baghdad showed the moment after the vehicle of a commander from Kataib Hezbollah, an Iran-backed armed group in Iraq that the Pentagon has blamed for attacking its troops, was targeted in a U.S. strike on February 7.

In the video, the white car Abu Baqir al-Saadi was traveling in can be seen speeding past, leaving a trail of fire in its wake.

Reuters was able to verify the location from the structure of the building, pillars, shape, and colour of doors and road layout which matched satellite imagery and other corroborating footage from the scene. Reuters was able to confirm the date of the video from the date and time stamp on the material which matched media reports of the commander's death.
