People in Kabul, Afghanistan, stood in solidarity with Pashtun protesters in Islamabad, Pakistan, on February 9. Pashtun protesters marched to Islamabad, where they have been staging a sit-in in front of the National Press Club since February 1. They are calling for an end to “arbitrary disappearances” of people living in the Federal Administered Tribal Areas, located at the northwestern edge of Pakistan. The protest started after security forces allegedly detained and killed a young man, Naqueebullah Mehsud, on January 13, according to local media reports.
