There are a lot of hidden gems in this world. Hardly ever does one get the chance to fully shine. We may argue that each person has a unique set of talents but often times than not, they do not realize their full potential.

The Olympic games have always been the place where the strongest and most talented people have gathered to show their excessive skills in a certain field. Even back in Ancient Greece, the whole focus of the world turned towards the Games. They began as a part of a religious ritual for Zeus, the king of all gods, and took place every 4 years. They were so popular that they had the power to cause cease-fire throughout the Hellenic world.

Since 1896, when the Olympic Games were reintroduced, the world literally stops and focuses on nothing but them every time they’re on. There probably isn’t a person which hasn’t heard of them and almost everyone has at least once seen a game on their TV. Most of them already know each team member of their favorite representation, so it doesn’t happen too often to be completely surprised by a contestant.

Meet Erin Jackson, an inline skater for the American National Winter Olympics Team. Her remarkable drive is what sets her apart from other contestants. Apparently she is fairly new to the game, seen as she only had a year and four months worth of training to become an inline skater. She says that she had already been competing in speedskating, so she knows how skates work, but she had to learn completely new ways of moving in order to learn how to inline skate. She hasn’t set any other goal than to be better than she was the previous time. Best of luck, Erin!
