This 2300 foot trekking route is definitely not one for the faint-hearted! It takes a lot of courage and a bit of steel nerves to willingly go down those steps. Just the sight of the video might make some people faint, let alone the trek itself.

Kalavantin Durg Trek stands high in the Western Ghats, Near Panvel, Mumbai, and walkers follow the steps just inches away from a sheer drop of nearly 700 metres. They must be extremely careful when placing their feet, otherwise they may slip and fall. In a place where the air is extremely humid and it rains a lot, that is quite an easy feat to achieve.

The Kayakers is an outdoor pursuits group based in Prune, India, who loves to go out and explore the nature in the heart of the Black Mountains and filmed the footage in July, 2017. In it we can see a group of enthusiasts carefully climbing down the steps and the person taking the video climbing down alongside them. They are very sure in their steps and they easily pass by the other enthusiasts. As the footage shows us, there is a big line of trekkers along the steps, with a camp waiting for them at the bottom. One thing is for sure, this adventure isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. Mangesh Dongare, from the group, said: "around 30 people from different backgrounds attended this trip.”
