Dash Cam Catches Loose Car Tire’s Journey On The Highway

Footage was filmed on January 13, 2015 and shows a white car heading eastbound. Everything happens so fast and only a split moment later, we see a bouncing tire flying on the highway and hitting and smashing the windshield of an oncoming car, scattering glass everywhere.

Highway 401 in Ontario, also known as the Trans Canada Highway is one of the busiest highways in the world. It is used by almost as many 18 wheel transport trucks as cars. When these big rigs are rolling down the highway at speeds of 60-70mph, the last thing you want to see is a tire blowing out or a wheel coming off.

The loose tire must have unmounted from its designed place and was send off flying directly at oncoming traffic. Cars following behind didn’t have enough time to react as everything happened so fast, literally in the blink of an eye!

Fortunately, the driver didn’t panic, he braked in a controlled manner to amortize the collision. He was lucky because the tire headed for the co-driver’s seat, and nested right next to him in split seconds after the windshield glass was in pieces!

The dash camera was turned on and captured the entire thing on film. Obviously, the drivers around the unfortunate car were wise enough to hit the brakes and avoid multiple vehicle collision.

The video was made on September 4, 2018, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is what the maker of the video has to say about this "end of day's" event: "I was driving to work. As I approached the intersection of Airport and Bresler Drive the driver of a Lexus cut me off, sped to the light, which was already red. The Lexus wasn’t able to brake in time for the crosswalk and nearly hit a car. They then backed up fast and nearly ran over a pedestrian, making contact with the woman's right arm."

A bad driver is something that no road can possibly be saved from. Now, there are incredibly many cars in the world, and they all travel on the same roads. If you drive smart, you can quickly get to work, go on a trip to anywhere in the world or just go shopping for a few weeks ahead. But at the same time, not all drivers follow the rules of the road making the lives of the first group simply unbearable. And the worst part of it all is that you just have to learn to live with this, because whatever you do, whatever the authorities do, nothing will be done in the end.
