Underwater Photographer Captures Video of a Green Spoon Worm in Port Phillip

Australia resident PT Hirschfield captured video of a green spoon worm while diving in Port Phillip Bay, Victoria. on February 8. Hirschfield told Storyful he found the creature under a rock. He stated that in his over 800 scuba dives, this was the first time he has encountered the green spoon worm, “It reminded me a lot of a balloon animal in the process of making itself.” Green spoon worm or Bonellia viridis, is an echiurin that is native to southern Australia and can be found in depths greater than 20 meters of water.
