We’ve heard it all before, and unfortunately, some of us have even seen it all before. The most villainous killer of our generation is attacking our bodies, the bodies of our peers, silently, without us even knowing it. Yes, you know what we’re talking about - cancer.

Cancer is a disease caused by the division of abnormal cells in our body at it can strike any organ and be both benign and absolutely lethal. The time it takes to spread depends on the rate at which the cells are divided and it can be very fast or it could take years. There are a lot of ifs when it comes to cancer and it is precisely that uncertainty that makes it so horrendous.

The devastation it leaves behind is the doom of many families. There is treatment, but it isn’t always effective and it is so harsh it only leaves the shell of the person you used to be, but no matter what, you should never forget to fight. The cancer is essentially an invasion to your best laid plans, and that is enough to make you angry and want to anathemise it.

There have been many events to raise the awareness of this systematic killer, and it makes us see the stories of each fighter and sometimes even of the people they leave behind. In this heart-wrenching footage, we can see 8-year-old Knoxx pay homage to his mom. She used to be a great basketball player when she was younger so it inspired this third-grader to make a half-court shot in her honor. She passed away a few months before the game and Knoxx thinks that he was able to take the shot because she was there cheering on him.
