A freshman at Evanston Township High School in Illinois clinched a victory for his basketball team on Friday, January 26, when he sank an unbelievable buzzer beater from the opposite end of the court. Evanston freshman Blake Peters grabbed a rebound from a missed free throw, and with less than three seconds left, threw the ball almost the entire length of the court, giving his team and 45-44 win over Maine South. Speaking to local media, Peters said it was the best moment of his life. “I thought it might go in, but when it actually did, it was pretty cool. I remember blinking, I was on such an emotional high. I started running and all my teammates tackled me.’” A clip of the shot shared to YouTube had earned 117,000 views at the time of writing. Credit: Twitter/ETHSports via Storyful
