Rescue teams were continuing to work in and around Paris on January 29 as the level of the River Seine continued to be several meters higher than normal. The river peaked at 5.84 meters, Le Monde said. An official with the surveillance organisation Vigicrues said the flood was expected to relent on Tuesday, January 30. This video shows how one man in Villennes-sur-Seine, west of Paris, was handling the conditions, on January 26. He sends a drone up from his kayak to survey his unusual paddling conditions.
