Two bushfires burning in Royal National Park on Sydney’s south had consumed 70 hectares and sent plumes of smoke over the city on January 20. Firefighters were using aircraft to fight the fires, the NSW Rural Fire Service said. The park was closed and people were being told to leave if possible. “Beaches may offer safety,” the fire service advised. Credit: Instagram/Linda Fišerová via Storyful
