An incredible footage has emerged from snow and ice sculptures displayed at the Harbin Ice festival in northeast China.

Footage was filmed on January 9 and shows people observing the intricate artworks at the world's largest winter fair. This is the world's largest winter fair and consists of various snow and ice sculptures. Some carvings are even three storeys high. Incredible!

If you want to visit a real life winter wonderland, the Harbin International Snow and Ice Festival, is the place to go. This annual festival is famed for its gigantic illuminated sculptures and ice castles. Amazing!

Held in the capital of Heilongjiang Province, the festival is made up of several themed zones. The main attraction is the Harbin Ice and Snow World, spread across 750,000 square meters and featuring up to 180,000 cubic meters of ice. Sculptors come from all over the world to compete in the annual festival. Impressive work of art!

The most remarkable fact is that the ice is brought from Harbin's Songhua River. Reportedly, more than 50 farmers worked for 20 days to supply festival’s sculptors with blocks of ice from this river. Don’t hesitate to visit at night, when sculptures are illuminated with LED lights. Magical experience!

This international ice and snow sculpture festival consists of three theme parks, the Sun Island international snow sculpture art expo, the Harbin ice and snow world and the Zhaolin Park ice lantern fair. This incredible event has been held since 1963, with several interruptions in the years during the Cultural Revolution, and has successfully exhibited 33 editions so far!
