The Philippines’ Mayon volcano continued to spew thick clouds of steam and volcanic ash on January 16 and 17, clouding the skies above eastern Albay province and causing thousands to evacuate their homes. This footage, which the uploader said was filmed in Legazpi City outside the University of Santo Tomas, shows the volcano’s smoke from a distance. According to Inquirer.net, over 38,000 individuals from 39 barangays (neighborhoods), three cities and five towns have been forced to evacuate due to the potential threat of Mayon’s eruption.
