A lorry in Huddersfield ran into difficulty on January 16, when it struggled to maintain a grip on Chapel Hill when travelling through the centre of the town. Inclement weather conditions were replicated in areas across the UK on January 16 and 17, including in Scotland where motorists were stranded overnight on the M74. The Met Office issued yellow and amber weather warnings for snow and ice across the UK, beginning on January 16 and continuing into the following day. Credit: Twitter/Arcticblizzards via Storyful
