Large parts of Scotland were braced for disruption on Tuesday, January 16, after heavy snowfall blanketed parts of the county. A yellow warning for snow and ice was issued by the Met Office on January 16 as motorists were warned to drive with caution. Dozens of schools were also closed in response to the weather. That said, the snow made for some scenic landscapes, as this video taken from a train travelling north through the Borders shows. The video was uploaded by Energise Galashiels, which aims to promote the beauty of the town in the Border Region. They were certainly able to make their point during this winter journey.
