Texas Kicks Feds Off Border

There have been tensions between federal border enforcement agents and Texas national guards who have been ordered to secure sections of the southern border. Texas Governor Greg Abbott signed laws that would allow enforcement to arrest illegal immigrants. Abbott also has declared a state of emergency and deployed the national guard to Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas. The Texas national guard removed all federal law enforcement agents from the area along the border. The state forces have deployed barbed wire and barriers in addition to riot shields used to keep people out. The Biden Administration DOJ and DHS have sent cease and desist letters to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton demanding Texas vacate Shelby Park. However, Texas remains defiant and is continuing to hold down the border in Eagle Pass.
