Multiple semi-trailers and passenger vehicles spun out and crashed on Interstate 40 near Jackson, Tennessee, on Friday, January 12, creating a massive pileup that shut down the highway. The ice-covered roads made for dangerous travel early Friday, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol out of Memphis. Eastbound and westbound lanes were reportedly shut down while crews worked to clean up the wreckage. The area was under a Winter Storm Warning that was set to expire at 6 pm Friday.
