Flooding in Greymouth After 75mm of Rain Falls in 2 Hours

Streets were blocked around Greymouth and the town’s central business district was closed on January 11 after about 75mm of rain fell in two hours . Tony Kokshoorn, mayor of the Grey District, told Radio New Zealand that he had spoken to residents whose properties were flooded, but they were in good spirits.
