A Northern Kentucky school principal’s snow day announcement has gone viral after he shared the weather warning in the style of a Maria Carey ballad on January 8. In a video uploaded to the Facebook page of Florence’s Union Pointe Academy, Principal Chad Caddell parodied the songstress’ hit Hero. “Play some Xbox and smile, drink hot chocolate for a while,” the principal crooned. “You can thank me really soon, here’s a snow day just for you.” At the time of writing, the video had received 275,000 views and shared more than 3,700 times. According to Local 12, this is the second time Caddell has won over the internet with his creative snow day messages. In 2014, the then-creative drama teacher at Stephens Elementary School in Burlington, Kentucky, recorded the announcement to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody with principal James Detwiler. Authorities in the Cincinnati tristate area, which includes the northern tip of Kentucky, issued a winter weather advisory on Monday as freezing rain iced over roads and caused several accidents. Temperatures were forecast to rise mid-week but fall again Saturday and Sunday, a local report stated. Credit: Facebook/Union Pointe Academy via Storyful
