Deputy-Involved Shooting Leaves One Dead

One person was shot and killed by a Lee County deputy following a domestic violence incident. It happened on Saturday around 4:24 p.m. at 18196 DuPont Drive in South Fort Myers. Once deputies searched the resident they came in contact with the suspect who pointed a firearm in their direction. Deputies shot at the suspect, LCSO said at a press conference. That suspect is confirmed dead. No deputies were injured and those involved in the shooting will be placed on administrative leave per LCSO policy. This is an ongoing investigation.
