Storm Eleanor hit western Ireland on January 2, churning up strong waves in County Clare. This video shows waves from the sea splashing up against a shop in the town of Lahinch. An estimated 55,000 people in western Ireland were without power due to the storm, Newstalk reported. Met Éireann, Ireland’s national meteorological service, issued a Status Orange weather alert for exceptionally high seas, coastal damage and flooding.
