Erie, Pennsylvania, broke the state’s all-time daily snowfall record after a total of 34 inches of snow fell on Christmas Day. The previous record was a snowfall of 20 inches on November 22, 1956. Timelapse footage shows snow falling heavily from 9am on December 25, right through to the following morning at 6am, as measurements reached 55 inches in under 36 hours. This video was filmed by Epic Web Studios on a webcam located at Erie Insurance Arena. A severe weather warning remains in place for Erie until 4pm on December 27 due to heavy lake-effect snow.
