Kukers are traditional masked figures in the Bulgarian folklore tradition. The custom of kukeri is part of the festive traditions related to cultural and religious holidays, especially in the borders of Bulgaria, but also in neighboring countries. The custom is usually associated with banishing evil and invoking fertility and good health.
