West Bank-based journalist Iyad Hamad was temporarily detained by Israeli forces on December 12 while covering protests in north Bethlehem. Hamad told Palestine News Network that his reporting was deliberately obstructed. He was later released. Hamad, a video journalist who works with the Associated Press and is part of the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate, was covering protests related to US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
