A holiday display in New Albany, Indiana is turning head across the globe, after a clip of the Minion Mad decorations has gone viral on social media. Now the neighborhood where the holiday display is situated is experiencing literal Minion Mania, as people gather up to see the over 70 blow-up characters from the successful animated movie franchise “Despicable Me”.

The owner of the successfully decorated house Michael Pourteau says: "My neighbor and my son were having a Christmas competition. I kind of got involved, and it went minion crazy." He then admits that when he gets into a project, he goes all out. "I live for it. I'd rather do something for somebody else than do it for myself. That's who I am."

It took Michael a total of two days and over 70 blow-up likenesses of the lovable yellow characters to make his home the literal talk of the county. He says that his front yard had turned into an extension cord nightmare. After the 2016 holiday season, Michael went out and purchased every single Minion he could find on clearance, amounting up to $3,500.

"You see kids outside on the sidewalk jumping up and down that just can't believe it,” Michael says said. “It's almost real and they just love it. It's worth every minute just to set them up for the kids to come out and see this. It's amazing to them."

This Christmas decorating mastermind says that as soon as the sun goes down over his little home town, you can see headlights stretching up and down his street, lined up to see the display.

It may be awesome, but it is not weatherproof. On windy days, the Minions have to stay deflated, so they don’t “learn to fly”.
