Two boars ran through the grounds of a high school in Kyoto, Japan, on December 4 and even took a dip in the school’s pool before they were tranquilized and captured. According to reports from local news outlets NHK, Sankei and MBS, the incident occurred at Higashiyama Junior High School and Senior High School. The boars ran through school halls and interrupted midterm exams, and this video show local authorities trying to fish one of the boars out of the school pool. No students or staff members were injured by the boars, which were shot with tranquilizer guns and confirmed dead upon capture, Sankei West reported. The school’s secretary general, Masahiko Shibata, told Sankei West that monkeys and racoon dogs had been seen on school grounds before, but never wild boars.
